Sable Ranch – 2 nights for 2 including hiking and 4×4 activities

Sable Ranch is situated just off the R96 close to Hekpoort  in the Magaliesburg mountain region. Only approximately 25 min away from Johannesburg/Krugersdorp makes this trail an easy reach for the entire family to enjoy a day out in Mother Nature

The package on offer is:

• 1 night for 2 on a self catering basis
• Free 4×4 trail in your own vehicle (Sable Ranch 4×4 is situated close to Hekpoort in Gauteng. Only 20min from the city this outdoor venue gives you a 4×4 experience of a life time. Course is suitable for 4×4 and 4×2 vehicles with diff lock. There is an option to do the man-made track with 15 obstacles, and you can also go up the mountain which is suitable for the advance adventure 4×4 drivers.Normal Cost varies from R100 – R150.Track will take you from about 2 hours to 5 hours if you decide to go up the mountain, on top you can stop and have a beer at the dam.)
• Free Hiking Trail (The trail is open from Monday to Sunday, as well as on public holidays and you can hike at very reasonable tariffs. Normal Cost is R70pp and R30 for children. It has 4 trails, namely a 5km, 8km, 10km and 12km.)The first part of the trail is a beautiful stone paved road which then becomes a wide scraped trail of loose rock and sand. The trail begins with a steady uphill, around 1.5km, which gives the calves a great workout. The rocks are pretty loose and slippery throughout the trail and one need to keep an eye on your stepsThe trail evens out once you reach the Plateau. Here you are able to view the Game feeding points and enthralled by the amount of game that you are able to watch and photograph in close proximity, so beautiful and special! There are hides you can watch from. There is also Peglerae Aloes to see, which are indigenous to the Magalies area, in full bloom.  The picnic area is a beautiful shady spot with fresh, running mountain water to refill bottles as well as a braai and seating area.
