A journey back in time as described by some of the world’s oldest examples of Archean Rock.
When the earth’s volcanic surfaces cooled and oxygen was still being developed, the result was hardened rock deposit all around the world. With billions of year’s of weathering, this earliest evidence of earth’s habitable beginnings has been destroyed forever. Except, that is, in a few last remaining locations around the world. Arguably the most accessible of these locations is in the Mkhonjwa Mountain Range between Barberton in South Africa and Bulembu in the Kingdom of Swaziland.
